Pixboy is a monochromatic platformer that harks back to the era of the Game Boy. It’s got a few modern twists up its sleeve as well, and right now you can pick it up from the App Store for half of its normal asking price. We reckon that’s a deal you should be excited about.
The game casts you as the titular Pixboy. You’ve got 40 levels to work your way through, all to reclaim a magical elixir stolen from you by naughty dogs. Sure, why not. The game is split into four different worlds, each of them capped off with a massive boss fight.
There are new mechanics added in regularly, a bunch of different enemy types that you need to take down, and much, much more. 150 secret rooms are hidden around the game too, and finding them all is the sort of challenge that some people are going to absolutely adore.
You can win a pacifist badge for completing a level without killing any enemies, and there are speedrun challenges too. Basically, Pixboy is packed to the brim with things to do, and all of them are an awful lot of fun. What more could you want?
