What’s better than a fighting game? How about a fighting game with a literally pounding soundtrack where you have to tap in time to the beat to do the beating? We ask because that’s exactly what the newly released Rhythm Fighter has to offer.
On the surface the game is a side-scrolling beat-’em-up, but scratch that surface and you’ll find a focus on perfectly-timed taps. There are roguelite elements as well – no two playthroughs are ever going to be quite the same.
You’ve got a bunch of different characters to pick from, each with their own set of skills and special moves. Then you’ve got a variety of gear you can strap on, including super powerful weapons. We should probably watch a trailer right about now, yeah?
There are also a bunch of cards you can play with, making a special deck that powers you up even more. Basically, there’s a deep strategy here that lets you experiment while you tap and can create some crazy combinations.
