There’s nothing better than strapping on some gloves and going on a punch-kicking spree to clear up crime-infested neighborhoods. In video games, that is. You shouldn’t do it in real life. Real life is far more complex and nuanced. Anyway, the point of all this is that Streets of Rage 4 is coming to mobile.
The game has been available on consoles for a while now, and has won and been nominated for a bunch of awards. It takes the side-scrolling scrapping of the classic originals, updates it with shiny graphics and some fresh ideas, then lets you go nuts.
There are familiar faces and new characters, loads of different modes to sink your teeth into, and classic graphic options if you prefer things all pixel-y. You can even hook up a controller for that authentic feel. Here’s a trailer.
And you don’t have that long to wait to get your hands on the game. As the trailer above shows, Streets of Rage 4 is set to land on the App Store on May 24th. So that’s like a couple of months. But short months.
The bad news is that it won’t launch with online multiplayer, but it will be getting that delicious online violence as a free update after it launches.
