It might seem like an oxymoron to say that "Kale in Dinoland" brings "retro" forward, but it's about time an iOS platformer achieved the same level of depth as the classics!
"Infinite Universe" begins on such a strong note that its intro sequence will draw you in even if you're not a gamebook fan yet. Now, if only it could keep up that level of intensity!
"Gears of Fur" succeeds in bringing something new to platformers with its gear friction mechanics, but lackluster enemies and a relatively traditional first half take some of the punch out of the cool concept.
Consider "Beyond Dead" a work that's still very much in progress. Even at this early stage, it's clear that there's lots of "Metroid"-style goodness to look forward to once it's fleshed out and gets some interface refining.
A unique visual novel/casual puzzle mashup that benefits from strong writing, standout voice acting, and clever minigame design. It helps if you're a 19th century literature buff though!
