Aaaaah Disgaea. You’re bonkers in all the right ways. And also pretty darn intimidating sometimes. Disgaea RPG tries to deal with one of those things, squishing the experience into a more favorably palm-sized one.
That’s not to say that the game dispenses with everything that makes Disgaea so amazing. The Item World is still there, the Dark Council is still ready to unlock new content, and you can level characters up to 9999. It’s just that everything is a little more accessible.
As is the case with a lot of mobile-first JRPGs, Disgaea RPG features characters from throughout the series -you’re collecting and upgrading them and hopefully having a jolly nice time while you’re doing it.
Alongside the usual madness, you’re also going to find auto-battle, speed ups and a number of other additions that are there to cater to the more casual player. Only a bit more casual though, Disgaea RPG is still full of massive whomps and craziness and it’s pretty tough too.
