Tencent snagged the rights to Elden Ring not long after it dropped and has been working on bringing it to mobile ever since. They’re keeping things under wraps for now, according to Reuters. But the word is Elden Ring mobile will be free to play, unlike the Steam version which costs $59.99.
Although there haven’t been any official announcements yet, tons of global players have been crossing their fingers for an Elden Ring mobile version. But some also worry that it might not capture the magic of the original or that it’ll open the floodgates for crappy knockoffs.
Ever Played Elden Ring?
In the title, you roam around an open world called the Lands Between on your trusty horse, Torrent. Along the way, you meet NPCs, fight baddies and take on the big boss demigods in each region. The game boasts of smooth animations where smacking enemies in melee feels quite powerful.
Developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco, Elden Ring dropped in February 2022. It received rave reviews about its massive open world, complex gameplay and epic setting. Within a year, it sold over 20 million copies and even snagged tons of awards.
