We’ll split this guide up into a few sub-sections so that you can learn about the game piece-by-piece! First, we’ll start with…
Combat Formation
In Eversoul, you’re going to do a lot of fighting, using your team of Souls to take out the enemy. The first thing you can do to improve your chances of winning any fight is by using the unique combat formation system that Eversoul offers. We’ll detail some of the different formations you can use below…
Basic
This is the – you guessed it – most basic formation. Don’t let the title put you off though! This formation is quite competent, and is always a safe option for when you’re unsure of which one to go with. Here’s some of the stats…

Defence
The defence formation is focuses on protecting the HP of your Souls, giving the backrow a bit of an unexpected bite. Here’s some of the stats…

Ranged
If you’ve got a few archers in your party, then this is a no brainer! Here’s some of the stats…

Assault
Perhaps the perfect foil for the Ranged formation, the Assault formation is suitable for you if you have a few heavy hitting melee combatants in your squad! Here’s some of the stats…

If you’re unsure on what formation to use, you can always select “auto-placement”, and the game will choose a formation for you.
Soul Growing
In Eversouls, Souls are the characters that make up your deck of cards. They’re almost human, but not quite! You’ll upgrade these characters as you progress through the campaign and gain more resources. Here’s a quick tutorial on how to do that…
- In the menu, select “Soul” in the bottom left of the screen
- In the new window, select the Soul that you want to upgrade/grow
- In the bottom right, tap “Level up” – this will spend resources and grow your Soul by a small percentage each time you tap
When growing a Soul, you’ll want to select a Keepsake. If you’re unsure which one to choose, a safe option is to select “auto-equip” and let the game choose for you!
Combat Tips
As stated before, combat is a huge part of Eversoul. Here’s some tips on how to master combat and significantly increase your chances of winning battles…
Use Your Ultimate
During combat, you might notice that at the bottom the screen, there’s an ultimate guage. When it reaches 100%, your ultimate is ready for use.
Ultimates are special moves your Souls can use, and they can often turn the tide of battle in your favour. For this reason, we recommend using them whenever they’re available!
To use your ultimate, select the red icon that appears to the right of your character card at the bottom of the screen. You’ll then witness a mini-cutscene, as your Soul’s ultimate begins.
Fountain of Recovery
Using the Fountain of Recovery before a battle can give you a quick-and-easy boost in combat, so we recommend that you take full advantage of them.
Fountains are found throughout the level that you’re playing through, and by interacting with them, you can restore a certain amount of your team’s health. This could give you the slight edge that you need to take out the next team, so keep an eye out for them.
Reroll
As with any gacha, a fantastic way to kick off your game is by rerolling! The trouble is, however, that the process of rerolling is different in one way or another for different games. Eversoul is a new gacha RPG set in the land of Eden. Souls are beings born from magical artifacts but do not know which they were born from. Helping reunite them with their true name will let the Souls fulfill their destinies. Recruit your squad and take part in some classic JRPG action, with epic squad-based battles.
