Looking for a new point-and-click adventure to obsess over? Perhaps one that tells a bittersweet story of love, loss and life? And features an owl called The Owl? Well, you’ve come to the right place, because When The Past Was Around offers all of those things and more.
The game follows the story of Eda, a woman in her twenties. She’s drifting through life until she falls in love with The Owl. The game lets you explore their relationship, solving puzzles in unconnected rooms to reveal the full story.
That story is told without words. You’ll experience it all through the images the game slowly but surely shows you. It’s all pretty impressive and engaging and you’ll probably have a good old cry at some point.
There are plenty of puzzles waiting to be solved, and a lovely soundtrack that accompanies the point, clicking and head-scratching perfectly. This is a brilliant little game that’s going to stick with you for a good long while.
