Psychoz Interactive has finally announced a solid release date for their long-gestating survival horror throwback Forgotten Memories: Alternate Realities. iOS will get the game first on the 23rd of April (yay!), with Android, PS Vita, WiiU, and PC versions to follow soon thereafter.

Touted as “a true spiritual successor” to survival horror classics from the 1990s such as Resident Evil, Silent Hill and Alone in the Dark, Forgotten Memories: Alternate Realities promises an emphasis on psychological horror over predictable jump scares, and will include dread-inducing genre mainstays like limited access to ammo, scant save points, freakishly unpredictable enemies, and a hostile dark environment.

You can find out more about the game over on its official site. And here’s the plot synopsis and launch trailer:

In Forgotten Memories: Alternate Realities, you’ll play Rose Hawkins, a woman who is searching for a missing young girl named Eden. Rose wakes up wounded and in a strange place she doesn’t recognize.

While exploring the hallways of an old abandoned asylum to save a lost soul, Rose will find herself locked in a never ending tragedy; frozen in time. She will have to confront her deepest fears to unveil the mystery behind her terrifying investigation.
