Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition Launching for iPad and iPhone Next Year

Rockstar has revealed that it’s been working on a refined and polished version of three of its classic games. The bundle, which is called Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition includes reworked versions of GTA III, GTA: Vice City and GTA: San Andreas, and it’s coming to the App Store in the first half of next year.

The new versions of the games will feature upgraded graphics, as well as some gameplay tweaks to better suit more modern sensibilities. The new additions are designed not to detract from what made the original games so great, though.

Home-console and PC players will be able to get their hands on the trilogy before the end of the year, but mobile players are going to have to wait a little longer. Here’s a trailer.

In the next week the versions of all three games that are currently available on the App Store are likely to disappear, so if you want to play them on your phone before the big relaunch, you’ll need to pick them up pretty quickly.

We don’t know how much GTA: The Trilogy will cost when it lands on the App Store next year, but we’ll let you know as soon as we hear that, and any other information about the game.
