Hunter x Hunter Nen x Survivor Beginner Guide
Luckily, once you first launch the game, you will be taken through the basics step-by-step. The game will guide you through your first battle, how to add characters to your team, and how to upgrade them.
As a beginner, you’ll obtain Gon, Killua, Leorio, and Kurapika to help you in your battles. At the time of writing this, there aren’t many characters available, so you’re already halfway to obtaining them all!
How to Play
In the game, there will be one team leader that you control, while an army of enemies tries to attack you. Weave your way through enemies while you attack them. In your team, you can have three units (including the leader), and you unlock a fourth slot later.
You can see your progression at the top of the screen, and the goal is to defeat all enemies. However, as you go on, more enemies will spawn. There will also be bosses to face. Even if you don’t complete the round 100%, you will still earn rewards at the end.
Each character has abilities and skills to help you attack the enemies. Also, as you progress through each chapter, you can select one of three additional skills. These skills are inspired by other characters from the series! The skills you select, and the skills from your teammates, all contribute to clearing the enemies in front of you.
The Gacha System
As you progress, you will finally unlock the gacha system. This is where you summon heroes and memories to add to your overall team build. My Hunter x Hunter Nen x Survivor Reroll Guide explains more about this feature and how you can reroll.
Obtaining characters is the most important, and there are also character-specific banners you can pull from, which give you an increased chance to obtain that character.
Building a Team
I have a general best Hunter x Hunter Nen x Survivor team guide that explains how to build a team, and some of the best characters to have. But in short, leveling up characters is crucial. This will make them stronger in battle, helping you defeat the foes you face.
To upgrade a character, simply select the character you want to level up and choose the upgrade button. As a beginner, you may not have the best units yet, so upgrading those you have is important to help you progress.
Eventually, when you save up your summons, you can pull for more characters from the banner. A good rule of thumb is to remember that often, the rarer characters are better, so focus on obtaining those.
