Is The Mimic Octopus Better Than The Raccoon in Grow a Garden?
In my opinion, yes, it is! Let’s break it down and explain why.
What Does The Mimic Octopus Do?
Every 20 minutes, the Mimic Octopus copies an ability from another pet in your garden and performs that ability. You can get this pet from a Paradise Egg, with a 1% chance of hatching it.
The Raccoon has a 0.1% chance to hatch from a Night Egg, or 1% from the Exotic Night Egg. Every 15 minutes, it goes into another player’s garden and duplicates one of their crops, then gives it to you.
Many players confuse this ability and think the Raccoon steals a fruit. Don’t worry, it doesn’t. It simply copies a fruit, so if a Raccoon comes into your garden, you won’t lose a fruit.
Why Is It Better?
Although a Raccoon is great if you want another crop, the Raccoon may only ‘steal’ common fruit, or ones that aren’t worth much. It’s great if you get lucky and get something rare. But it’s not much use if you only obtain low-quality crops.
However, with the Mimic Octopus, if you already have good pets in your garden, it is guaranteed to copy one of their abilities. Although it’s a shame it can’t copy abilities from pets in other gardens, this pet basically allows double of the same pet.
