Maik Flade of Astragon Talks To Us About The Newest Iteration of Construction Simulator® 4

Construction Simulator® is back with a fourth entry that expands on every single feature imaginable. In fact, it’s been back since May, but on the off-chance you weren’t aware, we’re excited to announce that you can check it out for free, courtesy of a new ‘Lite’ version.

This offers you a bite-sized version of the game that you can play at no cost, upgrading to the full version for a mere $5 if you’re a fan. Your progress carries over too, so you don’t have to worry about losing anything by checking out the Lite variant first.

For those unaware, Construction Simulator® is a series that very much does what it says on the tin. You take on hundreds of building jobs and perform them yourself, driving vehicles, managing the process, and exploring a wide variety of locations.

The fourth entry introduces a new location, 30 new vehicles (bringing the count to over 80), and new construction jobs. That’s alongside a bevy of improvements that make this the definitive entry in the series so far.

Maik Flade, PR Manager at Astragon, is keen to talk up the new location. “Construction Simulator® 2 was set in the US, while the third instalment took place in Europe.

“Now, we’re heading to a Canadian-inspired map called Pinewood Bay.”

And what a map it is. It’s arguably the largest the series has featured to date, and split up into three distinct areas. That allowed Astragon to show off the wide variety of opportunities the Canadian landscape offers, including dense forests, picturesque bays, and towering cities.

Also new is a brand new vehicle type, the concrete pump. “This feature, requested by the community, offers a new level of concrete work, enhancing the overall gameplay experience,” says Flade.

Speaking of new, you can now take on a variety of challenges alongside a friend thanks to cooperative play. That’s a first for mobile, and shakes up the experience versus the second and third entries, which still pull in new players.

Rounding up the exciting features included in the game, Flade talks up the business management side of the experience. “There are various options available, such as the length of the economic cycle, which influences payments but there is much more to adjust.”

If that sounds like a lot, fear not as “An instructor is available to guide you through the initial steps” if you’re struggling. In that sense, it marks the perfect entrypoint to the series, as you you have plenty of support in learning the ropes.

You can also tweak the experience to your liking for each of the vehicles. In that sense, it’s just like the real-life business.

“Within the hydraulic controls section, you have the freedom to choose between steering hydraulic-based machines, such as excavators, in a simplified Arcade mode or using the original SAE/Euro or ISO modes to operate like a real construction professional,” says Flade.

If you’d like to check it out, go ahead and grab Construction Simulator® 4 Lite right now from the App Store or Google Play.
