Monopoly Go New Shields
So what is new for the Shields? As I mentioned earlier an update in September gave the shield mechanic a complete face-lift. Now shields both serve purpose and have cosmetic value! Shield skins are an all-new collectible to customise your board when you’re in shutdown.
This update is entirely cosmetic and doesn’t change how shields work, but if you’re looking for a quick run down we got you covered! Shields activate when you enter shutdown, which is essentially being away from your board. The shields can protect your structures from incoming attacks. Without shields, the landmarks you have worked hard to assemble will take massive damage and impact your overall board.
Shields are still collected when you land on shield tiles too, so this didn’t change either! The new shields is as simple as being a new visual for you to collect to make your board stand out and be unique to the other players.
A Look At The New Shields
To get the new shields you can continue around the board as usual, landing on Shield tiles. Depending on your multiplier you will generate a different amount of shields to use. If you overfill and gain too many shields for your rank then the extras will be converted to Dice on a 1 to 1 basis.
You can get the newest shields through Quick Wins too, where they will begin to appear in the final weekly prize. The new cosmetic shields will also debut into tournament rewards for the higher achieving players.
