    Falling Fred Review

    Ruan Shiels·March 6, 2011
We gave Dedalord's eagerly awaited and excessively gory second game, Falling Fred, a hands-on whirl and write-up last week, so I'll do my best to keep this full review as short and unpleasant as possible. Suffice it to say, this censor-baitingly violent and rib-ticklingly funny title will undoubtedly appeal to fans of tongue-in-cheek splatter cinema or Adult Swim style crude comedy.

    Hunters: Episode One Review

    Sean Koch·March 5, 2011
The primordial soup of perfection can be found in Rodeo Games' first offering: an intriguing premise, standout gameplay features, and an excellent user interface that takes full advantage of the iOS. Sadly the product as a whole still feels a bit too underdone for widespread mass appeal, but Turn-Based Strategy fans are still doing themselves a favor in checking this one out.

    Chicken Escape Review

    Ruan Shiels·March 3, 2011
Question: Why did the chicken lay her egg on a axe? Answer: She wanted to hachet. Now, if that little joke didn't have you doubled over with mirth, jog on, Chicken Escape isn't the game for you. But, if you did crack a smile, chances are you're gonna absolutely adore what End Boss Games (great name) have cooked up for their App Store debut.

First Look: Car Jack Streets 2

    Ruan Shiels·March 2, 2011
As hinted at by Tag Games' Paul Farley earlier this year, the long-awaited (and oft-postponed) sequel to Car Jack Streets looks set to take this old school Grand Theft Auto-esque series in a very different direction. An altogether cuter one, would you believe?! Now, naturally, rubber gets burned, police sirens blare and bullets fly in the newly unveiled teaser trailer...

    6th Planet Review

    Sean Koch·March 1, 2011
Five out of five chimps agree: this mega collaboration from Monkube and a number of art studios is the best darn iteration of "lunar lander" you'll find on the iOS. Boasting perfectly fine-tuned physics, a wonderfully illustrated sci-fi story filled with as many twists as the game's complex levels, and a pick-up-and-play interface, 6th Planet gives the iOS gamer just about everything he or she would ever look for in a videogame -- and then some!

    LastStandStan Review

    Ruan Shiels·March 1, 2011
Much like the engine of a machine that's been left idle to rust and fall into disrepair, Greenbean Games' iOS debut, LastStandStan, requires a little gentle coaxing and patience on the player's part before it eventually splutters to life. But, once you get past the initial few slow-paced levels, this cutesified sci-fi shoot 'em up notches the action up a gear, delivering an enjoyable blend of intergalactic firefights and on-the-fly strategizing.

Updated: ROBOT 99 Review & Giveaway

    Ruan Shiels·February 28, 2011
Having previously launched an iPad only version of ROBOT 99 to widespread acclaim, über-talented Taiwanese illustrator/award-winning web designer/first time iOS game developer Fu is back with a brand spanking new universal binery. And while, when played on a smaller screen, the multi-touch powered party aspect of this title does not really compute; overall, it remains a visually stunning and thoroughly addictive little time waster.

Wharr: Age of the Colossus Review

    Ruan Shiels·February 25, 2011
My hat goes off to those developers who are willing to try something absolutely crazy in the name of innovation; even when a gameplay concept crashes and burns in execution, the effort at least lets other devs know what doesn't work. That's precisely what Forge 11 has done for the iOS games industry with the very quirky "Wharr: Age of the Colossus." The takeaway message? Vertical 2D platforming and an interface that revolves around tilt controls mix about as well as oil with water.
