    ‘Legendary Wars’ In-Depth Review

    Sean Koch·February 2, 2011
2011 just isn't letting up on superb entries in the iOS games library, is it? Liv Games joins the ranks of expert iOS developers with a Real-Time Strategy/Castle Defense/RPG combo that's as addictive as it is beautiful. One interface flaw deprives it of a perfect score, but Legendary Wars is a clear winner with healthy cross-genre appeal.

Scary Good Giveaway: Win Dead Space Promo Codes!

    Ruan Shiels·February 1, 2011
You honestly didn't think iFanzine would let something as epic as Dead Space landing on iOS pass without celebrating somehow, did you? Of course you didn't. Courtesy of the kind folks at EA Games, we've got not one, not two, but three codes for the iPhone/iPod Touch version of this 5 star masterpiece to give away. I know, out of this world, right?

    Dead Space Review

    Ruan Shiels·January 31, 2011
EA's Dead Space, not only one of the best looking and best made games yet to grace iOS but also the outright scariest, is likely to have you squirming anxiously, jumping like a jack rabbit and shrieking in terror, as developers IronMonkey Studios expertly meld psychological horror with grisly, high-octane action to absolutely nerve-shredding effect.

    Hamlet Review

    Ruan Shiels·January 29, 2011
Okay, okay -- its whole title is actually "Hamlet or the Last Game Without MMORPG Features, Shaders and Product Placement." Phew. This logic puzzler from Alawar Entertainment first splashed into the PC gaming scene last year, and now you can grab it for a buck on your iPhone or iPod Touch! While it has scant replay value and demands a strong appreciation of the genre, it's so irreverently zany and well executed on the iOS that logic puzzle fans would do well to pick this one up if they haven't played it before.

    Surveillant Review

    Ruan Shiels·January 27, 2011
There's gonna be three types of iDevice gamers when it comes to this ingenious offering from Recluse Industries and Vector Lovers: those who absolutely adore it, those who just don't get the excitement surrounding something that looks so dated, and those who toss it down in frustration after a few minutes wrestling with its interface. Most who stick with it will fall into the first category, as it's a true work of art that defies genre preferences with its addictive premise and sheer novelty factor.

    Eggs in Space Review

    Ruan Shiels·January 26, 2011
On paper The Lonely Bee's debut game, Eggs in Space seems to have all the right ingredients - barmy b-movie inspired premise, pick-up-and-play friendly concept and eye-popping art style - but, sadly, when whipped together they result in an undemanding arcade shooter that, while delightfully surreal and visually striking, is ultimately unsatisfying.

    Pantheon Cycle In-Depth Review

    Ruan Shiels·January 25, 2011
We know what you're thinking: "Zombies, in a Celtic inspired setting? Count me in!" However, the most important thing to do before you leap into Gilli Games' Turn-Based Strategy offering is to tone down your expectations; this is the beater car of the genre. In other words, bona fide genre fans can count on Pantheon Cycle for a good time, but there's not enough glitz and sparkle here to draw the attention of a wider audience.

    Ninja Bounce Review

    Ruan Shiels·January 24, 2011
It seems as if ninjas have decided to shrug off that centuries old image of being silent warriors skilled at sticking to the shadows and going undetected, because the little blighters are cropping up all over the App Store lately. The latest iPhone game to deck out its central character in the iconic shinobi shozoku and break cover is JellyOasis' Ninja Bounce, a fast paced and fun rhythm-based adventure.

    Treasure Seekers 2 Review

    Ruan Shiels·January 21, 2011
Artogon and G5 Entertainment perform at the top of their game in this Find the Hidden Object-turned-casual puzzler. Sometimes fanciful, sometimes creepy, and always drop dead gorgeous, Treasure Seekers 2 has such varied range that its appeal should be recognized well outside the fanbase of its particular genre niche.

    Ruan Shiels·January 19, 2011
The little gnomes who run things behind the scenes here at iFanzine are busily working on a review for G5's latest offering, Treasure Seekers 2. While they're doing that we wanted to pass along the news that G5 is giving away five copies of the game this Thursday (January 20) to celebrate its release. If you're a fan of "Find the Hidden Object" games you won't want to miss this!
