    Samurai II: Vengeance Review

    Sean Koch·October 25, 2010
MADFINGER's followup to Samurai: Way of the Warrior brings to mind combo-heavy action games of the PlayStation 2 era owing to formidable gameplay and not just its luscious visuals. If you're squeamish at the sight of blood you need not apply, but otherwise this is one of the year's must-have titles for action fans especially.

    Reckless Racing Review

    Ruan Shiels·October 24, 2010
We first heard tell of Reckless Racing a good ways back. The game instantly grabbed iPhone gamers' attention thanks to its gorgeous graphics, an old school arcade-y perspective, and the promise of plenty of rubber burning action set deep down South. And gosh darn it if Pixelbite Games haven't come good on the potential for over-the-top fun inherent in the title's hillbillies race the heck outta hot rods premise...

    Predators Review

    Ruan Shiels·October 24, 2010
The general rule of thumb is that any game based around a movie is likely to rushed, sloppy affair designed solely to cash in on celluloid success and turn a quick buck. For this reason, I approached Chillingo's iPhone adaptation of Predators with extreme caution. Happily, it shatters convention, and offers up a heady mix of brutally violent action, gorgeous visuals, and pitch-perfect controls.

    180 Review

    Ruan Shiels·October 21, 2010
180 is a mash up of Tetris, Bejeweled and Zuma. Well kinda. With so many Bejeweled clones out there, is the coin flipping feature and moving nature of the buttons enough to make the game stand out?

    Donkey Punch Review

    Ruan Shiels·October 21, 2010
Despite the smutty connotation of its title, - if you don't know what I mean, try googling Donkey Punch (ahem) - Smooth Landon's latest is an innocuous enough little app in the Doodle Jump mould that, thanks to its duo of wacky characters, absurd sense of humor, and simple tilt controls, should appeal to a younger audience of iPhone gamers.

    Zombie Farm Review

    Ruan Shiels·October 18, 2010
Splicing together two instantly recognisable gaming IPs - the fiendishly addictive Facebook hit Farmville and PopCap's seminal Plants vs Zombies - sees The Playforge hit pay dirt with their latest, Zombie Farm. Or at least it would if it weren't for the fact this brilliantly entertaining blend of agricultural management and tongue-in-cheek undead warfare is freely available from the App Store!

    Mana Chronicles Review

    Ruan Shiels·October 16, 2010
This sidescrolling Action RPG brought to us by Spearhead Entertainment has a nice arcade style beat-em-up feel and its lack of fetch quests is a welcome rarity in the iPhone RPG library. Unfortunately consumers looking for deep gameplay mechanics and varied content should be forewarned that it suffers greatly from its heritage as a ported Java-enabled cell phone game.
