Do you play Pokémon UNITE, Pokémon’s first 5-on-5 strategic team battle game? If yes, then we have some good news for you. If you don’t play it already, maybe now’s a good time to try it out! Because Timi Studio and The Pokémon Company are dropping two new mon Magikarp and Gyarados!
Who Are Magikarp And Gyarados?
They are the same but they are not the same! Well, that’s interesting, right? Magikarp, the fish-like critter evolves into the dragon-like mon Gyarados. It happens when its effort gauge is full by using basic attacks and Magikarp’s movesets. Magikarp’s entry into the arena marks the first time in Pokémon Unite that a playable character will evolve without adhering to specific level requirements.
Magikarp’s moves include Splash and Flail, the latter dealing more damage at lower HP. You can also Magikarp throughout the match but I wonder if anyone’s going to opt for that since Gyarados is the real diamond everyone wants. It has a fearsome set of moves and features the passive ability Moxie and a Unite Move called the Dragon Current.
Gyarados has a killer move called the Dragon Breath through which it deals damage in a line and paralyzes opponents. Another moveset, the Aqua Tail drops continuous damage until interrupted or released. It also brings other power-packed movesets like Bounce and Waterfall to Pokémon Unite.
You can get hold of Magikarp, and its evolved form Gyarados in Pokémon Unite on your iOS device starting January 25, 2024. The update follows the recent additions of Floragato, Meowscarada, Beldum, Sprigatito, Metang and Metagross last month. Take a quick look at Magikarp here!
