The creators of Roblox Friday Night Bloxxin’ finally revealed that they’re pulling the plug on the game. Players have known this for quite some time now, as the game had been quiet since October. However, there wasn’t any official statement that shed light on the game’s fate until now.
But First, What’s Roblox Friday Night Bloxxin’?
So, if you didn’t know, Friday Night Bloxxin’ was a Roblox rhythm game made by Robo’s Local Pizza Hut. Created in September 2021, it took a lot of cues from the popular Newgrounds game, ‘Friday Night Funkin’. FNB let you play songs of your choice in return for Points.
These points could further be used to buy Animations, Emotes, Notes, Splashes, Icons, Icon Bop and Tags. The game was influenced by various flash games and Newground comics. It was all about dance moves, drawing inspiration from Dance Dance Revolution and PaRappa the Rapper.
Why Are They Taking It Down?
FNB was a big deal on Roblox, racking up over 160,000 likes. The developers announced that there’s been a lack of interest in updating the game. But why? Well, some screenshots of a statement from the developer were making rounds on X (Twitter), spilling the beans.
Apparently, some of the players weren’t playing it nice. The developers had to go through some seriously messed-up stuff, like doxing, swatting, harassment, stalking and even bomb threats. That’s some heavy stuff which made them say, ‘Enough is enough!’
The developer also talked about the idea of passing the game on to someone else. But they were worried for the safety of anyone who might take it over. It should be noted, however, that Roblox Friday Night Bloxxin’ is still online.
