If you’re like me, you suddenly find yourself in the Shrimp Game Lights Out mini-game with no idea what to do, only to be eliminated moments later. I’m here to talk you through what to expect and how you can win.

Shrimp Game Lights Out Guide
If you’ve watched Squid Game, you may recognize the ‘Lights Out’ game. Although not an ‘official’ game per se, it is a quick way to eliminate players. It’s pretty much a free-for-all killing spree in the room with the beds, where all players are out to kill.
How To Play Lights Out
The mini-games you get tend to be random (apart from Red Light Green Light always being first). This means you might get lucky and not have to participate in Lights Out at all!
If you do get this game, you will be given a knife in your inventory for you to use on other players. The lights go out, and players start to attack each other to eliminate them from the competition. One less player means one step closer to victory… which also means more prize money!
Once you’re in the game, equip the knife and go after a player. But be aware, as players will be coming after you too! Using the knife on a player will eliminate them.
Tips To Win
I found this to be one of the hardest mini-games, and after lots of practice, I’ve got some tips to share!
- Hide
- If you aren’t one for combat, you can keep out of the way. There aren’t many hiding places, but it’s a good idea to get behind the beds in the room or keep to the corners to not draw attention to yourself.
- Team Up
- If you’re playing with friends, ask to team up to look out for each other. Survival is in groups, right? Just be careful with who you trust.
- Run
- Holding down Shift + W lets you run. If someone is chasing you, run away to escape.
