A new collab is on the horizon, and here at iFanzine, we’re very excited. The Battle Cats are collaborating with Sonic the Hedgehog starting August 4th, 2025 to bring limited-time maps inspired by the Sonic franchise, event rewards for logging in, and collab-exclusive Rare Capsules.
Opening these Rare Capsules gives you a chance to collect Uber Rare Sonic collab units. Tails, Sonic, Knuckles, and Shadow are all available! Players can evolve these so they turn into Catified versions, changing their power and their appearance.

If you’re anything like us, you’re feeling pretty excited when watching the collaboration trailer. Starting with Knuckles, Tails, Sonic, and Shadow all running (or, for Tails, flying) across a familiar Sonic map, the core four soon come face-to-face with The Battle Cats!
There’s something very wholesome about seeing the Sonic characters with Battle Cats who match their appearance, right? Tails flying with a flying Bird Cat, Knuckles getting ready to throw punches and going up against Titan Cat, another strong Battle Cat. This collab is simply meant to be, if you ask us.
The trailer also gives us a sneak peek of the cat’s evolutions. As we mentioned earlier, you can evolve these event-exclusive characters into their Battle Cats counterparts.
Tails becomes Tail & Cat, Shadow becomes Shadow & Cat… you get the idea. Not only will they get stronger, but some heroes’ appearances will mix together to create a Catified version of a Sonic hero! We’ll go as bold as to say they’re all very cute.
