I can’t wait for everyone to get their paws on FDG Entertainment’sSuper Cat Bros. when it hits the App Store tomorrow. I’ve been playing a pre-release copy of this retro platformer for the past few days, and I’m happy to report that it’s really, really good. So good, in fact, that I honestly found it difficult to put down long enough to write this article!
As its name implies, Super Cat Bros. takes a healthy dollop of inspiration from Super Mario Bros. and other side-scrolling platform games of that era. In it, you play as Alex the Cat, a heroic kittywho must explore a mysterious island in search of his missing siblings. This action-packed adventure sees you running, jumping, climbing, and swimmingthrough 50+ unique levels, unlocking new powers and playable characters as you go. Check it out in action below:
As I said up top, Super Cat Bros. will be available on the App Store and Google Play starting from tomorrow. It will be free to download for both platforms. An important note for iOS users: Super Cat Bros. is being renamed Super Cat Tales for its iPhone and iPad launch (to appease Apple and so as not to step on Nintendo’s toes, I’m guessing). It’s brilliant by any name though, so be sure to give it a whirl.
