Fakepup may have gone back to 2D since their debut with "Snowball Smash" last year, but they've also raised the bar for their work with this slick take on the running genre. Even if you can't imagine picking up yet another running game, you'd do well to give "Super Bit Dash" a good look, and if you're a retro platformer fan it should extend to your interests as well.
Aha, I think I've cracked the recipe OrangePixel used for creating "Stardash." It goes something like this. Step 1: start with "Super Mario Bros." Step 2: take away everything that helped Mario survive, and see how the player does. Needless to say, you'll want to go into this platformer with a tough-as-nails attitude!
Hot on the heels of FatCow Games' "Idyllic," XperimentalZ Games is sprinting toward the finish line of yet another project that injects some depth into the side-scrolling genre. Oh, did we mention this one has lightsabers? Naturally we sought a hands-on preview when we found out that little detail!
It's not without a few sticking points (pun absolutely intended), but "Big Sticky" succeeds in offering a unique and thoroughly challenging experience by turning the platformer genre topsy turvy.
This just in: the next project that "6th Planet" collaborators Monkube and Ape Entertainment are going full throttle on is none other than "The Adventures of Retrobot!" This time around Monkube has added the talents of Endeavor Bros., a Canadian indie developer, into the creative mix, and it looks like an exciting arcade shoot 'em up/comic book fusion has resulted!
