The Elder Scrolls: Castles

The Elder Scrolls: Castles Soft Launches On iOS Before Going Global

If you’re a fan of management and sim games, then I’m pretty sure you have played or at least heard of The Elder Scrolls series. Bethesda Game Studios has just soft launched a new title in the series, called ‘The Elder Scrolls: Castles’.

What’s The Game About?

The title is about ruling and dynasty management with a castle-building aspect. You rule a kingdom in Tamriel on the planet of Nirn. You should ensure that your kingdom thrives, doesn’t run out of resources and has efficient castles for everyone to live.

The kicker in the game is that twenty-four hours of a real day is equivalent to one year inside the game. So, instead of saying good morning to the NPCs the next day, maybe say ‘Happy New Year?’ Well, jokes apart, it’s a good addition to the game since it means that the simulation period is not very time-consuming. The time needed to build a castle is 1 month in Nirn? No problem, it’s just 2 hours for you!

You get to deck out your castle with additional rooms, decor and furniture. Strategy comes into play when you’re deciding who does what among your crew, keeping the resources flowing and your kingdom on the upswing. There’s also a bit of turn-based combat.

Played Any Elder Scrolls Titles Yet?

The Elder Scrolls: Castles marks Bethesda’s third venture into the mobile Elder Scrolls series. Legends hit the scene in 2017, followed by Blades in 2019. Bethesda is also famous for games like Fallout Shelter and Skyrim.

Castles is expected to hit globally in December 2024. Right now, it has soft-launched in the Philippines for iOS and Android. If you aren’t in the Philippines, then you can pre-order the game on the App Store and wait a bit more to get your hands on the game.
