Hop Into A 400-Day Long Adventure With The Longing!

It has been a long wait, but The Longing has finally dropped on iOS today! Priced at $4.99, the point-and-click real-time idle game is about an underground kingdom. So, would you be interested in guarding the cave for 400 days?

Should You Twiddle Your Thumbs For 400 Days?

The Longing is a test of your patience. Actually, patience is not just a virtue here, it’s your only friend. But don’t worry! You don’t have to twiddle your thumbs, there’s a smorgasbord of activities. Decorate your crib, be a bookworm underground or build furniture of your choice.

You are Shade, the last servant of an aged King who goes to sleep straight up for 400 days. Your job is to guard the cave and wake the King up after 400 days. A timer at the top of the screen keeps ticking even when you aren’t playing. The timer may speed up, cease ticking or even go backwards, depending on your actions. So, beware!

Is There No Way Out?

Of course, there is. After all, it’s just a job, right? People quit the jobs they dislike all the time. So, Shade has a choice, too! You can ditch the king and escape the cave, but first, you need to find the way out. Ha! On that note, why don’t you take a quick peek at the game below?

Legend says The Longing draws inspiration from a German folk story, the Kyffhäuser. It’s about a king living and sleeping under a mountain, waiting for the right time to wake up. A cool feature of the game is its massive library, where you can read full-length e-books, from Thus Spoke Zarathustra to Moby Dick!

With fantastic dark-themed sound and visuals, The Longing has four different endings. So, how many of them will you be diving into? Head to the App Store and try the game out! Also, check out our latest scoop on Alchemy Stars Anniversary 2.5.
