Type SOUL has just received a major update shaking the rankings of any tier list previous. So, I made this brand new Type SOUL Element Tier List which ranks each Shikai from busted to bad!
Elements are a combat function within Type SOUL which allows the user to wield one of various elements against enemies. Not all Elements are created equal, however, some being far superior to others. Choosing the better element makes you a fiercer opponent, creating smoother gameplay so you have better survival odds, rather than feeling like you’re enjoying the game in hard mode.

Type SOUL Element Tier List (April 2024)
Heads up! My ranks exist from personal gameplay, research and player feedback, each tier is ultimately subjective to personal preference. If you disagree with these rankings that’s fine as this is the nature of rankings. Let’s get into it!
S-Tier
OP! These elements are the best of the best. These elements are versatile, powerful and reliable. Holds their own and are the most formidable options in the game.
- Ink
- Ice
- Water
A-Tier
Great alternatives if you don’t have any from my S-Tiers. These elements still host a ton of promise, but might not match up well if you’re fighting a user of the S-Tier elements.
- Blood
- Flower
- Fire
- Lightning
B-Tier
Average elements with a few decent properties. Nothing incredible, nothing to dismiss entirely.
- Shadow
- Berserk
C-Tier
Weaker elements which start to struggle to hold for themselves during combat. These elements have a few niche uses, but overall I would not recommend them.
- Confusion
- Wind
D-Tier
Gets floored. I would not recommend using these elements at all!
- Creation – Not including Creation Bankai!
