There are tons of Uma Musume Skills available, but it’s not clear what to do with them or what they mean. In this guide, I’ll explain what Skills are, how to activate them, and what the symbols beside them mean.
Start playing Uma Musume via the App Store. To go alongside Skills, it’s worth learning more about the Uma Musume Pretty Derby Stats, as one stat can determine the chance for a Skill to activate.
Uma Musume Skills
Skills come in different rarities, including normal, rare, and unique. When your Uma has a skill, they will get a boost or ability. For example, increasing their performance on certain tracks or in specific weather conditions.
How To Activate Skills
To activate a skill, your Uma needs to meet the conditions of that skill. If the condition has been met, one of the two things will happen:
- The skill will activate with no issue. Some skills are guaranteed to activate anyway, so there won’t be a problem!
- If it doesn’t activate, it will go through a Wisdom Check. When this happens, the amount of Wit your Uma has will determine the chance of the skill activating. The higher the Wit, the higher the chance of the skill happening.
Symbol Meanings
Some skills have symbols beside them. If you aren’t sure what they mean, don’t worry! I’ll go through them all below.
- X
- This is a negative skill, so it does more harm than good and usually decreases performance.
- You’ll often get a negative skill if you lose a race.
- You can remove negative skills in exchange for Skill Points.
- 〇
- Skills with a circle mean you can purchase upgrades for the skills.
- ◎
- Better versions of the singular circle skills.
- No Symbol
- If your skill has no symbol beside it, that means it is a standard skill.
