Claw Star, the award-winning casual game from Appxplore, is getting ready to partner up with Minto for a Claw Stars x Usagyuuun collaboration event.
For the uninitiated, Claw Stars is a popular casual arcade game that sees you traveling the universe as a hyper-evolved hamster. The gameplay involves using a big claw grabber to rescue your primitive animal kin, who have been imprisoned in orbs by a jerk.
The animals that you rescue remain with you as in-game collectibles, and as you progress from planet you’ll make new discoveries, hack your friends’ collection, customize your gear, socialize with other players, and more.
Claw Stars has been downloaded well over a million times on Android alone.
Usagyuuun stickers, meanwhile, have attracted more than 570 million downloads worldwide.
In case you’re still in the dark, Usagyuuun boasts squishy mochi like attributes – an adorable white critter with a permanent smile and an infinite variety of charming poses. Phone users can send stickers of Usagyuuun to their friends using messaging apps.
Whether or not you’ve received one of these stickers, Usagyuuun is one of the best known characters in the world, and this is the first time the franchise has partnered up with a mobile game.
Gameplay-wise, that means the happy white rabbit will take command of the ship you use to navigate the universe, along with a troupe of his friends. As a fringe benefit, you’ll also get a selection of Usagyuuun stickers to send to other players in the game’s Squadron chat.
According to Appxplore CCO Lim Jenn Yu, the collab is a marriage made in heaven. “Usagyuuun fits perfectly into the Claw Stars universe”, he writes in the press release.
And it might just be the first of many partnerships. “I believe this is just the first step towards more long-term collaborations with Minto and possibly introducing new IPs across our games”.
