Wayward Souls Gets Support for Latest iPhones and iPads, Will Get Paladin Class if Enough People Download it

Wayward Souls finally supports the latest iPhones and iPads, thanks to a new update that just went live. That includes iPhone X/S/R devices and the new iPad Pros.

If enough people download the update, developer Rocketcat has suggested that it might follow it up with another that introduces the Paladin class.

That’s the class that you play as during the tutorial, which never made it into the base game because it’s a bit overpowered. The class was introduced to the PC version though, along with a new story segment that’s a little more difficult.

Wayward Souls Now Supports Full Screen on iPhone X/S/R and iPad Pro

Oh, and just for the benefit of those that have never played this, it’s an awesome action RPG rogue like that draws inspiration from the likes of Secret of Mana. It’s also a bit of a spiritual successor to Rocketcat’s previous game, Mage Gauntlet.

You’ll battle your way through a variety of dungeons with one of a few different classes. There’s a massive sword-wielding warrior, a spell-slinging mage, and a sneaky thief, among more.

There are a bunch of different area types to battle through, each with their own difficult monsters to defeat. You’ll need to learn attack patterns if you want to make it to the end of this punishing game.

Monsters aren’t the only threat either. There are traps and various other obstacles to avoid as well. Fortunately, if you are brave enough to explore, you’ll often get a nice new piece of equipment as a reward.

These offer a variety of different bonuses, which you can combine to develop your own play style. That’s a huge part of the fun here. Also, every single character has its own storyline to follow, and you can purchase persistent stat upgrades for each of them with the gold you accumulate over the course of your adventure.

So if you’d like to see the new content on mobile, go ahead and grab Wayward Souls right now on the App Store. Even if the Paladin class doesn’t make it over, playing this awesome hack and slash on the big screen will be well worth it.
